Mirror uses AI

Several Mirror features are powered by artificial intelligence. These include the personalised product summaries, "best combos" suggestions, the routine explanations, the in-app chat ("talk to your products"), and the AI skin scan. By using Mirror you acknowledge that you understand and accept this disclosure.

How it works

• Routine logic (order, ingredient conflicts, frequency, expiry) is produced by Mirror's own deterministic rules, so it is consistent and explainable.
• Language & reasoning (product summaries, combos, chat) are generated by a large language model (Google Gemini) accessed through our secure server. AI text can be incomplete or occasionally wrong.
• Skin scan uses a third-party skin-analysis provider to estimate surface traits (e.g. hydration, texture, tone) from your photo. It does not identify you and does not perform facial recognition.
• Product data comes from the open Open Beauty Facts database and may be incomplete or outdated.

Limitations

• AI results can contain errors and should be used with judgement.
• Skin-scan results depend heavily on lighting, camera quality, and angle, and are estimates only.
• Ingredient and product information may be inaccurate; always read the actual product label.
• Everyone's skin is different, patch-test new products and introduce one active at a time.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for how you use Mirror's suggestions. If a product irritates your skin, stop using it and seek professional advice. For pregnancy, allergies, prescription products, or any medical condition, consult your doctor before changing your routine.
